O Grammy Awards 2021, maior premiação musical da atualidade foi adiado, o evento tinha data marcada para o dia 31 de janeiro. Porém, segundo informações da revista Rolling Stone, os organizadores do evento tiveram que adiá-lo por conta da pandemia do novo coronavírus. De acordo com o veículo o evento está previsto para acontecer no mês de março, sem um dia definido
A organização do evento havia planejado um show limitado para 2021, abrindo mão de ter uma audiência e permitindo apenas apresentadores e performers no local. Os artistas indicados também não teriam sido permitidos no evento, provavelmente levando a uma situação semelhante ao Emmy de 2020, em que os artistas apareceram e aceitaram prêmios remotamente.
Beyoncé foi a artista mais indicada da edição, com nove indicações, empatando com Paul McCartney, já que acumula um total de 79 indicações ao Grammy em toda sua carreira. A cantora também se tornou a mulher mais indicada na história da premiação e só fica atrás de Jay-Z e Quincy Jones, que já receberam 80 indicações.
Na categoria de Álbum do Ano duas grandes cantoras do pop são destaque: Dua Lipa, pelo álbum Future Nostalgia, e Taylor Swift, por Folklore. Jhené Aiko, Black Pumas, Coldplay, Jacob Collier, HAIM e Post Malone foram os outros artistas indicados por suas produções.
